What: FILL-A-BUS FOOD DRIVE
When: Tuesday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Where: Modesto Transportation Center, 1001 Ninth St.
Info: The public is invited to participate in the Fill-A-Bus project – a Stanislaus County community food drive – by donating canned or nonperishable goods. All proceeds will be donated to the Salvation Army.
What: FREE MARKET
When: Tuesday, 9:30 to 11 a.m.
Where: Parent Resource Center, 811 Fifth St.
Info: The Parent Resource Center is holding a free market offering families the ability to collect winter clothing, bedding and furniture for their personal use. Children who attend will receive a free book. The event will also feature information about the Parent Resource Center and its services. 100 YEARS AGO: Playing at the State Theatre were “Hearts and Diamonds,” a two-part vitagraph with Bunny and Flora Finch; “The Road’s Mascot,” a biographical drama; “A Transplanted Prairie Flower,” an Edison drama; and “Four Minutes Late,” a thrilling Selig railroad story. Admission was 5 cents for children and 10 cents for adults.
