Info: The Sons in Retirement Branch 103 monthly luncheon meeting will feature guest speaker Brooks Girtonis, exercise physiologist in the cardiac rehab department at Memorial Medical Center. Girtonis will speak on the education of heart patients. Sons in Retirement is an organization of retired men who join together to avoid the boredom of retirement. What: VETERANS ADVISORY COMMISSION MEETING

Info: The Stanislaus County Veterans Advisory Commission will meet. It is seeking participation from interested veterans and family members who are able to attend meetings. The meeting is open to the public. The commission meets the fourth Monday of each month and represents all veterans in Stanislaus County by advising the Board of Supervisors and staff on matters pertaining to veterans. What: TEA PARTY MEETING

Info: The Stanislaus County Tea Party meeting will feature guest speaker Barbara Sloan from the Elk Grove Tea Party. It will cover projects on removing Common Core, Agenda 21, Restore States Rights and a project on bringing a stop to voter fraud. All are welcome.
Salida
What: FAMILY DINNER AND MOVIE NIGHT
When: Today, 6 p.m.
Where: Salida branch of the Stanislaus County Library, 4835 Sisk Road
Info: A family movie and dinner night will feature a presentation of “The Lego Movie.” Families are invited to bring a picnic dinner and a blanket, and children may come in pajamas. The library will provide a beverage and popcorn. The Family Dinner and Movie Night event is supported by the Friends of the Salida Library. YESTERYEARS
25 YEARS AGO: The Hilmar Yellowjackets football team defeated Calaveras High School 28-7 to win the Sac-Joaquin Section Division IV championship. This was the school’s fourth straight title and the team’s 43rd consecutive win, moving it into sixth place, all-time, for wins in a row in the state. The record of 47 wins in a row was set by Cardinal Newman of Santa Rosa in the mid 1970s.
