YESTERYEARS

40 YEARS AGO: It was announced that Stanislaus State would begin regular radio broadcasts from the campus. The radio station’s call sign was KCSS 91.9. The station would have 20 students broadcasting throughout the day on the station with Eric Larsen as the station’s first student manager. The transmitter was 10 watts and could transmit throughout most of Turlock, as the Federal Communication Commission would allow only that range for unlicensed personnel.
