Modesto seniors put talents, fun on display

When you think of a senior center, you might think of bingo and maybe shuffleboard.

There’s nothing wrong with those activities, but Modesto’s Senior Center offers a lot more, and that was on display at an open house Thursday.

Activities ranged from aerobics to the Argentine tango, pilates to line dancing. And, of course, a ukelele concert. About a dozen seniors are learning to play the instrument through lessons offered by the Fun Strummers group.
