The Modesto Junior College department of dance presents “So You Think You Can … Jam ’n Jive” starting this week. The annual dance concert follows the format of the popular reality TV show “So You Think You Can Dance” with each featured guest selecting a style of jazz dance to choreograph and perform. In addition to MJC’s Off-Balance Dancers, the high schools involved in this year’s Jam ’n Jive concert are Downey, Davis, Beyer, Gregori, Modesto and Central Catholic. Also performing are the private dance studios of 5678 Dance, Backstage Dance, Valley Oak School of Dance, Strut Performing Arts, The Dance Factory and The Dance Academy. Shows are at 7:30 p.m. through Saturday, in the main auditorium of the Performing and Media Arts Center on the east campus. Admission is $10 general, $8 for students and senior citizens. Call 209-575-6776.
