Gold Rush Day canceled in Angels Camp
The fourth annual Gold Rush Day in Angels Camp has been canceled due to access issues stemming from the Butte fire.
Previously planned for Oct. 17 in the community’s downtown, the event has moved aside to allow full access to Main Street/State Highway 49 for the Butte fire incident command center set up at the Calaveras County Fairground, south of Angels Camp, according to a news release.
“Even when the Butte fire is declared completely controlled, the command center will be operational for weeks after that declaration and their vehicles will need full access to Main Street,” the news release said.
