Girl hit by truck near Modesto High in critical condition
The 15-year-old girl who was struck by a Modesto City Schools truck across from Modesto High School on Monday morning was in critical but stable condition as of late Monday, according to Modesto police.
The girl was walking in the crosswalk at Tuolumne Boulevard and Yosemite Avenue at 7:45 a.m. Monday when she was hit by the truck, police said.
Five minutes later, a 12-year-old boy was struck by a vehicle while crossing at a four-way stop at Floyd and Fine avenues. He was airlifted to a hospital and was in stable condition Monday night, police said.
At 8:30 a.m. Monday, police responded to a third incident at Sutter Avenue and Paradise Road, a few blocks away from the first incident at Modesto High. The 58-year-old man was hit as he walked into oncoming traffic from the crosswalk. He was taken to a local hospital where he was in stable condition Monday night.
All three of the drivers involved stayed at the scene and are cooperating with the investigations. Anyone who may have witnessed these accidents is asked to contact Crime Stoppers at 209-521-4636.
