What: VETERANS DAY PARADE AND CELEBRATION

Info: The Veterans Day Parade begins in downtown Modesto and continues to Graceada Park. There, a ceremony will feature guest speakers and music by Modesto Junior College’s combined symphonic and concert bands. What: CITIZEN OF THE YEAR CEREMONY

When: Tuesday, 6 p.m.

Where: American Legion Hall, 1001 South Santa Cruz Ave.

What: NAACP ELECTIONS

When: Wednesday, 10:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Where: Modesto/Stanislaus NAACP Branch 1048 office, 608 13th St.

Info: The NAACP Modesto/Stanislaus Branch 1048 is holding the election of officers and at-large members of its executive committee. To vote, one must be a member in good standing of the branch 30 days prior to the election. A form of identification is required. For more information, call (209) 544-2810.

What: SOROPTIMIST INTERNATIONAL MEETING

When: Thursday, 12:15 p.m. to 1:15 p.m.

Where: The Seasons, 845 McHenry Ave.

Info: Soroptimist International of Modesto Inc. luncheon meeting will feature guest speaker Beverly Adamo, who will give a presentation titled “Transforming Body, Mind and Business to Match Spirit.”


Ceres

What: SCARECROW CRAFT

When: Wednesday, 3 to 4:15 p.m.

Where: Ceres branch of the Stanislaus County Library, 2250 Magnolia

Info: The Ceres library is offering a scarecrow craft for teens and adults for the Thanksgiving holiday. Children under 13 are welcome to participate but must have direct adult supervision. Sonora

What: HISTORICAL SOCIETY PRESENTATION

Where: Tuolumne County Library community room, 480 Greenley Road
