Info: Hope Haven West needs volunteers to help sort collected wheelchairs and other used mobility equipment for shipping to vocational rehab programs at 17 federal prisons. Info: The church’s HSM youth group will hold a craft fair featuring a variety of vendors offering crocheted items, jewelry, origami, Christmas ornaments, cupcakes, candles and more. There will be raffles throughout the day.

What: “HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL”

When: Nov. 13-15, 7 p.m.

Where: Gregori High School’s Rainforest Café Stage, 3701 Pirrone Road

Info: Students present a stage production of the Disney Channel hit movie “High School Musical.” Tickets are $5 for students with ID, and $7 for adults. Children under 5 are free with a paying adult. For a matinee performance Nov. 13 at 2:20 p.m., tickets are $3 for students, $7 for adults, children under 5 free with a paying adult.

Info: The Stanislaus County Health Services Agency’s Public Health Services is holding a community flu vaccination clinic for anyone 6 months or older. Suggested cost is $27 adults, $10 children, but no one will be turned away for inability to pay. Additional clinics will be held through November. YESTERYEARS

50 YEARS AGO: The Hyatt Chalet Motel opened at McHenry Avenue and Needham Street in Modesto. The 15,591-square-foot motel was built for $500,000 and had 40 units, 20 on each of its two stories. The rooms included television, radio and air conditioning. Additionally, a Denny’s restaurant opened adjacent to the motel, the chain’s 102nd establishment.
