Junior Iron Chef competition held in Turlock
Kids in Turlock got a chance to be an Iron Chef for a day on Saturday.
The Junior Iron Chef competition was held at the Senior Center in Turlock.
The day included a trip to the Turlock Farmers Market to buy ingredients and an opportunity to work with a local chef to cook up some delicious meals.
Mayor Gary Soiseth and other community leaders were the judges. Soiseth announced the winners of various titles – such as best presentation and best texture and color – and then awarded prizes to the top three teams.
Table 26 chef John Gardner and his team won the first-place trophy.
The event was put on by the Turlock Downtown Property Owners Association in partnership with the Turlock Parks, Recreation and Facilities Department.
