YESTERYEARS

40 YEARS AGO: The Modesto City Council approved the purchase of a 33-passenger bus for the city transit system, at an estimated cost of $21,378. City Traffic Director Douglas J. The city and county were in talks for its use, and if used for the North McHenry route, the county was to pay for it.
