Info: Science colloquium sponsored by the Stanislaus Humanists will feature Dr. Julia Sankey and Prehistoric Turlock. Program will focus on Sankey’s work at Turlock Lake and her students’ research of geology and animals dating back 5 million years. Event is free and open to the public. Refreshments provided.

YESTERYEARS

25 YEARS AGO: It was announced that the Modesto City Schools teachers would receive an increase in health insurance premiums, equal to that of what other district employees receive. They also would be reimbursed for docked wages to pay for the premiums. Under the agreement, Modesto City Schools would pay $333 per month toward health benefits for each full-time teacher, an increase of $55.
