Before its regular meeting Saturday, the Democratic Women’s Club of Stanislaus County will hold a Hillary for America open house.

The event, from 10:30 to 11 a.m. at the Denny’s restaurant at 1525 McHenry Ave., is an opportunity to learn more about Hillary Rodham Clinton’s presidential campaign and sign up as a supporter or volunteer.

“Hillary for America-Modesto will be providing grass-roots action supporting Hillary Rodham Clinton in her quest to shatter the highest, hardest glass ceiling in our nation in her 2016 campaign bid to become the first woman president of the United States of America,” said Patty Hughes, founder and president of the Democratic Women’s Club of Stanislaus County. She called Clinton “a truly inspirational, courageous woman with boundless spirit and compassion for all Americans.”

Refreshments will be provided, campaign materials will be available and the first 25 attendees will receive a free gift, Hughes said. Those interested in attending are asked to RSVP at www.hillaryclinton.com/events/view/?id=417659.

The open house precedes the club’s regular meeting at 11 a.m., which will include guest speaker Lynn Telford-Sahl of Modesto, a certified money coach and creator of the online course “Prosperity, Power and Peace: The Women’s Guide to Financial Freedom.”

The club also invites Democratic candidates to attend its meetings, introduce themselves to its members and ask about endorsement. Contact Hughes at 209-303-4042 or email demwomensclub@gmail.com.
