40 YEARS AGO: It was announced that the Stanislaus County Board of Supervisors, by unanimous decision, increased the county’s property tax rate up 18 cents. The increase brought the 1975-76 rate to $2.98, up from $2.80, per $100 assessed valuation from the previous year.
