Fire damages home in Northeast Modesto near Naraghi Lake

No one was injured in a fire in the Northeast Modesto Naraghi Lakes neighborhood on Saturday evening but the house was left with damage to its attic and roof.

The Modesto Fire Department received a call at 6:35 p.m. by the home’s residents, who got out safely, according to Modesto Fire Public Information Officer Jessica Smart.

The area outside the home in the 3000 block of Lakeshore Court, off Lakeshore Drive near Hashem Drive, was filled with seven fire engines and two trucks as well as two ambulances – there for precaution only – and two battalion chief vehicles from both the Modesto Fire and the Stanislaus County Consolidated Fire departments.

Lights from the engines on Lakeshore Drive could be seen from Oakdale Road across Naraghi Lake as the sun was setting.

Smart said the two-story house suffered “significant attic and roof damage.” The fire was contained in about 45 minutes to an hour.

The cause was accidental from an electrical panel malfunction with damage estimated at $275,000, according to Smart.
