Golf tournament at Diablo Grande will benefit Love Modesto

Players could win a new Cadillac ATS or Harley-Davidson motorcycle with a hole in one at the Love Modesto Golf Tournament set for Saturday.

The tournament at Diablo Grande Golf and Country Club near Patterson will raise funds for Love Modesto and Love Our Cities activities. Love Modesto leads community volunteer days, ongoing volunteer efforts, and collaborations among leaders and neighborhood and school initiatives. In October, Love Modesto registered as a nonprofit with the goal of expanding its reach.

Executive director Jeff Pishney said there is still room for players for Saturday’s tournament. Other activities are a tri-tip dinner, silent auction and live auction. The format is four-person scramble and contests will include hole in one, men’s and women’s overall scores, putting and longest drive.

Registration and box lunch are at 9 a.m., shotgun start at 10 a.m., and dinner and auction at 3 p.m.
