Modesto Nuts cruise into a three-game series against Bakersfield tonight
The Modesto Nuts will sport a different “shell” tonight as they take on the Bakersfield Blaze in the first of a three-game series at John Thurman Field.
In a “What Could Have Been?” night, the team will wear Modesto Cruisers uniform tops. The jerseys will be available for auction during the game, with proceeds benefiting a local charity, according to the Nuts’ website.
The Nuts nickname was chosen through a fan contest, and the other finalists may have slipped fans’ minds. So in this, the team’s 10th anniversary as the Nuts, the front office designed two jerseys to show what might have been worn had a different name been chosen.
On July 18, the team too the field as the Modesto Dusters, with the jersey auction benefiting the Boys and Girls Club of Stanislaus County.
Game time is 7:05 p.m., and fireworks will follow the game. For more information and to purchase tickets, go to modestonuts.com.
