Coroner looking for kin of man, 75, who died in Newman

A Stanislaus County Sheriff-Coroner’s investigator is looking for family members of Larry Schildberg, who died in June in the San Luis Convalescent Hospital in Newman.

Detective Garrett Seymour said Schildberg, 75, had been hospitalized there for only a few weeks before his death. He came to the Modesto area in 1982, but also lived at times in Upland, Victorville and other towns in southern California.

While Seymour has reached some family members, he said they were unwilling to contributing toward burial costs. So he is looking for others who might. Contact Seymour at 209-567-4503.
