Sheriff’s deputies respond to shooting in Patterson
Stanislaus County sheriff’s deputies responded to a call early Saturday morning of man who said he was shot in Patterson.
Authorities responded to the call at 1:20 a.m. The victim, 18, told authorities he was walking along northbound Highway 33 near E Street in Patterson when a black car pulled up and two shots were fired, Stanislaus County sheriff’s Sgt. Jon McQueary said. The man was hit in the hip.
The victim told deputies that after he was shot, he fled on foot and was picked up by friends in a car and driven to the McDonald’s on West Main Street in Turlock, McQueary said. It was from there he called the police and was transported by ambulance to a Turlock hospital, where he was treated for non-life-threatening injuries. McQueary said officers went to the alleged scene in Patterson but found no evidence of a shooting.
McQueary said the victim has been uncooperative with investigators. There is no other description of the suspect.
