Two young sister in Modesto will hold a lemonade sale outside their Del Rio neighborhood home Saturday to benefit the Children’s Crisis Center of Stanislaus County.

The lemonade stand will be up from 10 a.m. to noon at 612 Atherton Court, said Michelle Mc Kinsey, mother of 9-year-old Madeline and 3-year-old Evelyn. The children’s cousins may contribute homemade cookies for sale, she said.

“They’ve been having lemonade stands in the summer and making tons of money and they decided they needed to give some of it away,” Michelle Mc Kinsey said. “They looked online and were familiar with the Children’s Crisis Center through our church.”

The sisters will donate their proceeds to the center to purchase supplies for displaced children it serves, Mc Kinsey said.

According to its website, the Children’s Crisis Center is a private, nonprofit child abuse prevention and intervention program serving all of Stanislaus County. It has four shelters, in Modesto, Turlock, Oakdale and Ceres.

The center provides 24-hour emergency shelter and child care services to children from birth to 17 years of age.
