Welcome Back to School event Friday in west Modesto park
A community Welcome Back to School event will be held from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Friday at James Marshall Park on Sutter Avenue near Marshall Elementary School.
Free food and family fun are planned. Enochs High School science teacher Dave Menshew and students from the Enochs Forensic Biotech Club will provide hands-on science activities, Python Ron will do a presentation on reptiles and insects, and The Golden Man Entertainment and Los Falcones will perform hip-hop and traditional dances.
More than 30 community-based agencies will be available to provide community information and resources.
The event is being sponsored by Modesto City Schools, the Modesto Police Department, Latino Community Roundtable, Maddux Youth Center and the Modesto Impalas.
