YESTERYEARS
75 YEARS AGO: It was announced that a children’s center would open in Hughson where migrant farmworkers could leave their children for the day while they worked. The center was sponsored by the Council of Women for Home Missions, an interdenominational organization composed of eighteen Protestant denominations. The center was held in the grammar school cafeteria and while the children were there they received a health inspection and toothbrush drill, supervised games and other activities.
