Sunday final day for the fair

Sunday is the final day of the 2015 Stanislaus County Fair. It’s Corona Day and the second ‘Free ’til 3’ day, when admission is free until 3 p.m.

WHAT TO DO: It will be your last chance to visit the Mind Works exhibit, near the Kids Zone. Test your skills at putting puzzles together, playing an oversized game of Operation and making giant soap bubbles.

HIGHLIGHTS: Livestock awards assembly, 10 a.m.

VARIETY FREE STAGE: Banda Machos, 8:30 p.m.

ARENA: Fiesta Del Charro, 9 p.m.

CENTER STAGE: California Square Dance Association, 2 to 4 p.m.; The David Perez Band, 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Los Amigos, 9 to 11 p.m.

HOURS: Gates open at noon; exhibit buildings close at 11 p.m.; carnival closes at midnight

PARK ’N’ RIDE: 11:30 a.m. to midnight; park and ride free from Stanislaus State (Crowell Road off Monte Vista Avenue) or Pitman High School (Christoffersen Parkway). Shuttles run every 15 to 20 minutes.

WHERE: From Highway 99, exit at Fulkerth Road in Turlock and head east. For fairgrounds parking, turn right on Soderquist Road, or go past Soderquist for more parking; $5 per vehicle.

ADMISSION: Free until 3 p.m.; after that, $12 for adults, $5 for children 7 to 12 and seniors 65 and older, free for 6 and younger
