Info: The Carnegie Arts Center is holding an informational meeting for those interested in volunteer opportunities to work in a variety of roles from docents, customer service assistance, special events, clerical and exhibitions. All volunteers will receive training specific to their roles. Docent training includes a six-week art appreciation class. Volunteers must be 15 or older and should be willing to commit to at least four hours per month. For more information call 209-632-5761.

100 YEARS AGO: Week’s Cyclery, at 921 Tenth St., announced its big motorcycle sale for the weekend. The store had 29 motorcycles from Indian, Excelsior, Harley-Davidsons, Thors and Yale. Week’s would be open until 9 p.m. and prices started at $25.
