YESTERYEARS
25 YEARS AGO: In a 4-1 vote, the Riverbank City Council voted to to allow a 700-acre residential community to use its sewer and water capacity. The development, however, was located across the Stanislaus River in San Joaquin County. It was noted by City Manager Brian Cox that it was city policy that the city could not supply water or sewer service to a project unless it could be annexed into the city, and it could not. The 700-acre, 1,900-home community would also have an 18-hole municipal golf course.
