Tuesday at the Stanislaus County Fair (07/14/15)
It’s 7UP night at the Stanislaus County Fair. With a coupon available on 7UP products, you can get $4 off an adult admission and $2 off an unlimited ride wristband.
WHAT TO DO: Gotta check out the fair fare! Maybe you’re a corn dog devotee, or a fan of the VFW Auxiliary hamburger, or you have to get that Knights of Columbus linguica sandwich. Maybe mix it up with one of the new offerings, such as a Buzz Bar from the Turlock Rotary Clubs or Dippin’ Dots ice cream.
HIGHLIGHTS: What’s more fun than poultry? Dressed-up poultry. See the competition at 4:30 p.m. at the rabbit and poultry barns.
VARIETY FREE STAGE: Martina McBride, 8:30 p.m.
ARENA: Destruction Derby II and Metal Mayhem Motorhome, 6:30 p.m.
CENTER STAGE: Ernie Bucio’s Little Big Band, 7 to 8:30 p.m., the Marvin Zeller Band, 9 to 11 p.m.
HOURS: Gates open at 5 p.m.; exhibit buildings close at 11 p.m.; carnival closes at midnight
PARK ’N’ RIDE: 4:30 p.m. to midnight; park and ride free from California State University, Stanislaus (Crowell Road off Monte Vista Avenue) or Pitman High School (Christoffersen Parkway). Shuttles run every 15 to 20 minutes.
WHERE: From Highway 99, exit at Fulkerth Road in Turlock and head east. For fairgrounds parking, turn right on Soderquist Road, or go past Soderquist for more parking; $5 per vehicle.
ADMISSION: $12 for adults; $5 for children 7 to 12 and seniors 65 and older; free for 6 and younger
