Peach truck overturns on Highway 99 in Ceres, blocking traffic

A big rig overturned on the onramp to northbound Highway 99 north of Hatch Road, spilling hundreds of peaches that temporarily closed all lanes of traffic Friday evening.

The crash happened at 6:38 p.m. The driver was not injured.

The California Highway Patrol closed all lanes of traffic while crews hurried to clear the lanes of peaches.

The fast lane was opened after about 20 minutes. The middle land and slow lane are expected to open around 10 p.m.
