Woman seriously injured after jumping off Knights Ferry covered bridge

A woman suffered major injuries when she jumped 30 feet from the Covered Bridge in Knights Ferry into the Stanislaus River Thursday afternoon.

The woman in her 20s landed landed in shallow water, according to Stanislaus Consolidated Fire Protection District.

She was taken by helicopter to a local hospital where she was listed in critical condition Thursday evening.
