What: ARCHERY DAY

Info: The city of Modesto is holding Archery Day for youths and families. Yahi Bowmen of Modesto will offer a course in fundamentals of archery. The day will begin with 45 minutes of instruction followed by hands-on archery activities. A barbecue lunch will follow. Preregistration is required. 100 YEARS AGO: The Star Theater announced its weekend entertainment schedule. On Saturday the theater planned to feature Charlie Chaplin in “By the Sea,” Ham and Bud in “Rushing the Lunch Counter,” “Exploits of Elaine,” a “Hearst-Selig News” and a two-act Biograph Drama. On Sunday, the theater planned to present Nance O’Neil and Theda Bara in “Kreutzer Sonata.” Tickets were 10 cents.
