Generally hot, with ups and downs, over next several days
The next several days will bring a mild roller coaster ride of ups and downs in daily high temperatures.
Today’s high in Modesto is expected to be near 94, with a northwest wind of 7 to 10 mph. That wind will continue tonight, with a low around 68 degrees.
This historic average temperature for June 24, according to Modesto Irrigation District records, is 90 degrees. The record high was 108 degrees, set in 1957.
Thursday and Friday will see higher temperatures and slower winds. The high Thursday will be near 102, and on Friday near 101. Nighttime temperatures also will be a bit higher – around 73 Thursday and 70 Friday.
The weekend will bring a bit of a break, with Saturday’s high near 93 and Sunday’s near 94.
Then the heat’s back on, with a Monday high near 98 forecast, and a Tuesday high near 100.
