Modesto church to honor S. Carolina shooting victims Sunday

Modesto’s First Christian Methodist Episcopal Church on Sunday will honor the nine people shot to death in an African-American church in Charleston, S.C., on Wednesday night. The vigil will begin at 12:30 p.m. at 208 Pine Street in Modesto, when churchgoers will recite the names of each victim and then release balloons into the air. Contact the Rev.
