Fire reported at coffee company near downtown Modesto

A small fire broke out at Modesto’s Clayton Coffee & Tea just south of downtown on Wednesday afternoon.

There were no reports of injury.

The fire started in a coffee roaster. Crews with the Modesto Fire Department were on scene minutes after the call came in at 3:20 p.m.

There was no immediate information on the damage to the business.

The cause of the fire is under investigation. When crews arrived, they found fire and smoke coming out of the roaster.
