What: SENIOR NUTRITION COUPON DISTRIBUTION

Where: Turlock Farmer’s Market, East Main and Thor Street
Info: The Area Agency on Aging has received the Senior Farmers Market coupon booklets and will be distributing them to seniors 60 and older who live in Stanislaus County and have a limited income ($1,800 per month or less for individuals, or $2,426 per month for households of two). One booklet per eligible senior per year. Coupon booklets contain $20 in coupons for use like cash at certified farmers markets to purchase fresh fruits, vegetables, honey or edible herbs. YESTERYEARS
25 YEARS AGO: It was announced that houseboaters on Lake Don Pedro objected to a 2-year-old tax on their annual permit to ply Lake Don Pedro waves. The permit was then $110. At the time, the tax netted Tuolumne County $28,270 for 257 houseboats moored at the lake.
