100 YEARS AGO: The College of the Pacific trustees held a meeting in San Francisco for various leaders of coastal and Central Valley cities; as they were looking for a site to make its permanent home. City representatives at the meeting included members from Stockton, San Jose, Santa Cruz, Sacramento and Modesto. Of the five cities present, only Stockton could make the commitment and offer the college a new home.
