What: Community Engagement Forum

Where: Thomas Downey High School, 1000 Coffee Road
Info: Modesto City Schools retained Jason Okonofua, PhD, UC Berkeley Professor and expert in social psychology, to study their discipline policies and make recommendations. Okonofua has engaged MCS students and staff through a variety of surveys and meetings to gather data and feedback. At the forum, Okonofua will report his recommendations based on his study findings. Info: The Sonora Celtic Faire will feature many stages of Celtic music entertainment from Celtcia, Tempest, Molly’s Revenge and more. If music is not your thing, there will be full contact jousting, combat on horseback and on foot. Watch knights battle it out in full suits of amour for top honors. 100 YEARS AGO: At the meeting of the Stanislaus County Livestock Breeders, the body elected three of its members to represent the body in talks to create a fairgrounds in Modesto. Members L.D. Thompson, F.W. Elleby and James D. Yates were to meet with the committee from the Modesto Chamber of Commerce and make plans to urge the Board of Supervisors to support the plan.
