75 YEARS AGO: The United States Army planned to offer professional training in physical therapy to qualified women through the Women’s Army Corps. There was a shortage and need of therapists to treat the wounded. The program consisted of six months of course work, with three months of apprenticeship treating patients. After which, the enlisted woman would be able to apply for discharge and apply for appointment as a medical department physical therapist aide with the relative rank of second lieutenant.
