What: US Too Prostate Cancer Support Group

Info: The support group will feature member Ken Willmarth, an 18 year prostate cancer survivor. Willmarth will tell his story, share his understanding of cancer, how to stay well during the fight and other helpful insight. Newcomers are welcome. All are welcome. Info: The Sundar STEAM Academy will be providing students in grades 3-5 free homework help every Wednesday through May 20. What: Community Engagement Forum

Where: Thomas Downey High School, 1000 Coffee Road
Info: Modesto City Schools retained Jason Okonofua, PhD, UC Berkeley Professor and expert in social psychology, to study their discipline policies and make recommendations. Okonofua has engaged MCS students and staff through a variety of surveys and meetings to gather data and feedback. At the forum, Okonofua will report his recommendations based on his study findings. Info: The Association of Fundraising Professionals, Yosemite chapter, invites the public to its next lunch meeting. March’s meeting will feature guest speaker Adrenna Alkhas, marketing director for the Stanislaus County Fair. What: Strength Training Class for Older Adults
When: Tuesdays & Fridays, 9:30-10:30 a.m.
Where: Riverbank Community Center, 3600 Santa Fe St.
Info: The Healthy Aging and Association will offer free strength training classes for ages 60 and over. The Young at Heart Strength Training classes work on strength, balance and flexibility to help reduce the risk of falling and to help participants maintain their independence. What: Income Tax Preparation Assistance
When: Mondays, 4-7:30 p.m.
Where: Nick W. Blom Salida Regional Library, 4835 Sisk Road
Info: Free Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) and Tax Counseling for the Elderly (TCE) programs will be offered through the last week in March at various Stanislaus County libraries. Volunteers, trained and certified by the IRS, will provide tax preparation assistance. Interested parties are encouraged to make an appointment, walk-ins may be helped if time permits.
