Modesto rain not enough to be recorded
A bit of rain fell during the night in parts of Modesto, but nothing measurable by the Modesto Irrigation District gauges. Still, the evidence was there in drops on vehicles and dampness – even a few puddles – on streets. A smattering of precipitation fell this morning, too, as motorists made their way down McHenry Avenue and elsewhere.
The Turlock Irrigation District did not record any rainfall, either.
The National Weather Service predicts a continued slight chance of showers today, with thunderstorms also possible after 11 a.m. The day will be partly sunny, with a high near 87. The chance of precipitation is 20 percent, with new rainfall amounts of less than a 10th of an inch.
The rest of this week and early next week should be sunny and hot, with a high near 95 on Thursday, near 102 Friday and near 101 Saturday.
Sunday and the following days will bring a bit of a break, with highs near 93 Sunday and 91 Monday and Tuesday.
