A Murphys man has gone missing and Calaveras County law enforcement officials are asking for the public’s help in finding him.

Mark Dantche, 45, was last known to be in the Railroad Flat area on May 30 with the intention of going fishing between Winton Road and Blue Mountain Road in West Point, authorities said.

On June 2, family members, who had not heard from him, filed a missing persons report.

Officials have not located his car. His cell phone may have been used on May 30 near Beardsley Reservoir in Tuolumne County. Local law enforcement, along with officers in a California Highway Patrol helicopter, searched the area where they believe his phone was last used.

Dantche, who is white, has brown eyes and gray hair. He’s 5 feet, 9 inches tall and weighs about 190 pounds. He was last known driving a 1996 blue, four-door Subaru wagon with a yellow kayak on top. The car license plate is 4YMF103.

Anyone with information regarding Mr. Dantche’s whereabouts is asked to call the Calaveras County Sheriff’s Office at 209-754-6500.
