What: BOWMEN SHOOTS

Where: Modesto Reservoir, Yahi Bowmen archery range, 18143 Reservoir Road
Info: Yahi Bowman 3-D Saturday shoots, featuring 14 3-D North American animal targets, is an opportunity for archers to practice their skills. Targets set at unmarked yardages. All forms of archery equipment are acceptable except crossbows and broadhead arrows. Public is welcome. Cost is $10 for nonmembers. For more information, call (209) 521-6327.
MERCED
What: REPTILE SHOW
When: Sunday, 2 and 4 p.m.
Where: Applegate Park Zoo, 1045 W. 25th St.
Info: Snakes, lizards and frogs are just a few of the reptiles that will take over the zoo in “Reptile Encounter.” Shows included with price of zoo admission – $3 general (16-61); $1.50 seniors (62 and older); $2 youths (5-15); free for ages 5 and under. YESTERYEARS
50 YEARS AGO: It was announced that Davis High School recognized two boys varsity teams and four varsity-level athletes for their accomplishments during the spring sports season at the school’s annual spring sports banquet. The golf and tennis teams won the Central California Conference championships. Vic Teden and Bob Venn were presented with outstanding golfer awards. Dale Muratore received a trophy for outstanding tennis player from his teammates. And Tim Halley received All-America honors for his performances in swimming in the individual medley, with the lowest times in the nation; he earned a certificate and an emblem.
