Flagman injured in reported race event in western Stanislaus County
Emergency services were dispatched Saturday to the former Crows Landing Navy airfield on a report that a vehicle struck a pedestrian. According to preliminary dispatch information, a car racing event was taking place and a Red Corvette spun out of control, striking a person. Emergency responders were dispatched at 12:15 p.m. to the airfield in western Stanislaus County.
The Sports Car Club of America has an event scheduled at Crows Landing this weekend.
The incident occurred as a sports car competition was held on the runway. A flagman standing on the side of the track was struck. He suffered a broken collarbone.
