Marijuana grow stolen during home invasion south of Turlock
A marijuana grow was stolen during a home invasion burglary south of Turlock early Saturday morning, according to the Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Department.
Deputies responded to an assault with a deadly weapon call at the 3900 block of Soderquist Road at 4:30 a.m. Saturday. When they arrived at the residence they discovered there had been a marijuana grow inside the house, said sheriff’s Sgt. Jon McQueary. The victim, a 59-year-old man, told deputies his marijuana and vehicle had been stolen during the burglary.
The victim’s car, a Hyundai Sonata, was recovered by authorities a couple of hours later in Merced County. McQueary said the suspects, described as two Hispanic males, were armed with guns. The suspects fled with an unknown amount of marijuana and remain at large. It is also unknown at this time whether the victim’s marijuana grow was legal, McQueary said.
Authorities said this is the second time the victim has had his marijuana grow stolen. The sheriff’s department continues to investigate the incident.
