Readers list their favorite ‘Graffiti’ songs
If the first thing you think of about Graffiti is the cars, a close second is the music. This was evident from the many responses to our question posed on Facebook: What’s your favorite song from the “American Graffiti” soundtrack?
Dennis Taylor: “Green Onions”
Dean Taylor: “Johnny B. Goode”
DK Hailey: “Runaway” by Del Shannon (“Green Onions” a close second)
Tina Perez-Tateo: All of them
Alex Mayfield: Del Shannon “Runaway”
Angelina Machado: “All Summer Long”
Dennis Howard: “Runaway,” Del Shannon
David Ferrell Jackson: “All Summer Long” by The Beach Boys. It wraps up the movie perfectly, and it’s an instant time machine tune for me with all the imagery it conjures up.
Rodney N. McCurdy: “Little G.T.O”
Raul Torres: “Green Onions” .. for sure, but they’re all good ...
Pan Temmermand: “The Stroll”
Donna Blizzard Sousa: “At the Hop,” Flash Cadillac
Vicki Amerson: “Runaway”
Kim Pasqua-Ockhuysen: “Runaway”
Kipfer Marissa: “The Great Pretender” by The Platters
Mary Marie Baca: “Ain’t That a Shame” by Fats Domino
Jose Martinez: All of them
Eric Ekala Reyes: As an album of songs it’s really well put together, just like the movie, great songs and great song order
Nadine Pederson: “Green Onions”
Larry Velasquez, “I Only Have Eyes For You”
Beverley Barger Rodd: “Green Onion”
John Pedroni: All good
Denice Lilies Robinson: All of them!
Mark Adam Barrera: All of them!
Spencer Johnson: “Let’s Go to the Hop” and “Make Her Mine.” As a Thomas Downey High School graduate I own the movie and instantly flash back when watching the prom scenes when Flash Cadillac and the Continental Kids played live.
