Woman fatally stuck by train in Turlock identified
The woman struck and killed by a train in Turlock over the weekend was identified as 42-year-old Jodi Merenda, the coroner’s office said Monday.
Merenda, a transient, was hit by the train on tracks between Marshall and Main streets in downtown Turlock at about 5:30 p.m. Saturday.
Turlock Police did not have any additional details about the crash on Monday including which direction the train was traveling, how fast it was going or if Merenda’s death appeared to be an accident or suicide.
