What: SHRINERS CAR SHOW

Where: Modesto Masonic Hall, 800 Rose Ave.
Info: The car show will be open to all vehicles; entry fee for vehicles is $30, free to spectators. Prizes to be awarded. Several local vendors. The event will be a benefit for the ancillary functions performed by local Shriners. Current information about Shriners Hospitals for Children will be available. Info: Groundbreaking ceremony for the United Cerebral Palsy of Stanislaus and Tuolumne Counties Community Garden for Persons With Disabilities. Presentations by local and state dignitaries. YESTERYEARS
100 YEARS AGO: The Modesto Theater announced the week’s vaudeville entertainment. At the head of the show were The Norwoods in “The Athlete and the Statue”; followed by the Hayes sisters and their variety show, featuring quick changes and song; and Ed Durkee and his xylophone.
