YESTERYEARS
25 YEARS AGO: It was announced to two members of Congress, that planned layoffs at the Riverbank Army Ammunition Plant would be postponed. The Army extended contracts for grenade and mortar shells. With the extension of the contract, an additional 5 million grenades and 365,000 mortar shells would be produced and would allow the plant to retain its workforce for another five to nine months.
