What: REPUBLICAN WOMEN FEDERATED MEETING

Info: The Modesto Republican Women Federated monthly meeting will feature guest speaker Susan Younan, who will speak on the topic of the genocide taking place in northern Iraq against Christians. Info: The Newcomers and Friends Club of Modesto is a social club in which ladies have the opportunity to meet others with similar interests. What: ACCORDION MUSIC AND SOCIAL

YESTERYEARS

50 YEARS AGO: About 3,300 Cub, Explorer and Boy Scouts and up to 10,000 spectators were expected to participate in the second annual Scoutorama to be held in the Modesto Junior College Stadium. Over 100 displays and events were planned for the showcase of Scouting in the Yosemite Area Council, Chief Tenaya District.
