YESTERYEARS
25 YEARS AGO: The Stanislaus County Board of Supervisors and the city of Modesto joined together to spend $4,000 to seek ways of saving at least the architecture of the existing Seventh Street Bridge, with the hopes of also reducing its estimated $1.5 million reconstruction cost. Modesto covered $3,400 for the approved study, while the county covered $600. The State Bridge Department was to research possible alternatives.
