Modesto students need help getting to NYC’s Carnegie Hall

A group of Modesto City Schools high school students are heading to New York City to participate in a program at Carnegie Hall.

Under the direction of Phil Vallejo, Director of Instrumental Music at Enochs High School, the students will take part in the New York City Wind Band Festival. The local ensemble consists of students mostly from Enochs along with representatives from Beyer and Modesto high schools.

Students have raised $132,000 so far for the trip set for March 2-7. A GoFundMe account has been set up to raise the remaining funds needed to send the 72 travelers, which includes chaperones and staff: www.gofundme.com/enochs-wind-ensemble-carnegie-hall.
