What: Coaches vs. Cancer Night

Where: Modesto Junior College East Campus, 435 College Ave.
Info: The Modesto Junior College Basketball program will hold Coaches vs. Cancer Night, as the Pirates take on Santa Rosa Junior College. Half the net proceeds from ticket sales will be donated to the American Cancer Society. The men’s basketball team tips off at 5:30 p.m. and the women play at 7:30 p.m. in the MJC Gymnasium on East Campus. The Coaches vs. Cancer program is a nationwide collaboration between the American Cancer Society and the National Association of Basketball Coaches that is supported by the California Community College Athletic Association. $5 general admission, $3 senior citizens and students, free for under age 7. What: Living History Day
When: Saturday, Feb. 10, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Where: Angels Camp Museum, 753 S. Main St.
Info: Visitors will be transported back in time every second Saturday of the month as docents re-create life in a California Gold Rush town. Artisan exhibits in the Mining and Ranching building include a carpenter’s shop, print shop and textile shop, each staffed by informed docents ready to demonstrate their respective craft.
